چکیده

It is found that the 750 cm–1 band in pure tertiary butyl alcohol shows attributes of a complex structure can be interpreted as result superposition several closely located lines belonging to different aggregates alcoholmolecules. As diluted with neutral solvents, width this passes through maximum corresponds concentration mixture comparable contents various most stable solution. The performed quantum-chemical calculations confirm complexity 750-cm–1 caused by aggregation molecules means hydrogen bonds. calculated energy gain due formation bond (dimer) amounts 19.7 kJ/mole, and length bridge equals 2.068 Å.

Pressure response of Raman spectra of water and its implication to the change in hydrogen bond interaction.

In situ Raman spectroscopic measurements of water in the region of OH vibration were conducted up to 0.4 GPa at 23 and 52 degrees C. The frequencies of the decomposed OH stretching bands initially decreased with increasing pressure, reached a minimum at 0.15 GPa and increased up to 0.3 GPa and then decreased, which corresponds to the variations of the strength of hydrogen bonding. This variatio...

Relation between dielectric and low-frequency Raman spectra of hydrogen-bond liquids.

We analyzed the complex dielectric and Raman spectra of hydrogen-bond liquids in the microwave to terahertz frequency range. As for water and methanol, the high-frequency component of the dielectric spectrum, i.e., the small deviation from the principal Debye relaxation, clearly corresponds to the Raman spectrum. This indicates that the cooperative relaxation, accompanied by huge polarization f...

Communication: Frequency shifts of an intramolecular hydrogen bond as a measure of intermolecular hydrogen bond strengths.

Infrared-ultraviolet double resonance spectroscopy has been applied to study the infrared spectra of the supersonically cooled gas phase complexes of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, formamide, and water with 9-hydroxy-9-fluorenecarboxylic acid (9HFCA), an analog of glycolic acid. In these complexes each binding partner to 9HFCA can function as both proton donor and acceptor. Relative ...

Hydrogen bond dynamics in aqueous NaBr solutions.

Hydrogen bond dynamics of water in NaBr solutions are studied by using ultrafast 2D IR vibrational echo spectroscopy and polarization-selective IR pump-probe experiments. The hydrogen bond structural dynamics are observed by measuring spectral diffusion of the OD stretching mode of dilute HOD in H(2)O in a series of high concentration aqueous NaBr solutions with 2D IR vibrational echo spectrosc...
